Why 11 days and 11 times?
Chanting 11 times for 11 days means you are creating a positive vibration by repetition. The numbers 11, 22 are master numbers in numerology and is considered as a very powerful number as it connects with the divine. As you all must be knowing that the horoscope has 12 houses and the 11th house of our horoscope is the house of desires and gains. So you see from where this chanting of Hanuman chalisa 11 times is coming from. Chanting 11 times manifests our desires and goals.
Sankalp is very important when you do 11 times non-stop chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. Sankalp means you are determined that your prayers will be answered. It’s the power of intention.

तुम रक्षक काहू को डरना॥
‘Sab sukh lahai tumhari sarna, tum rakshak kahu ko darna’
Meaning – Those who are under you as your refugees will stay happy. You are the protector so why be afraid of
24. भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवै।
महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै॥
‘Bhoot Pisaach nikat nahi aavai, Mahavir jab naam sunave’
Meaning – Evil, ghosts do not dare to come near, when your name is repeated / chanted
25. नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा।
जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥
‘Naase rog hare sab peera, Japat nirantar Hanuman beera’
Meaning – Diseases will be eradicated, all pains vanished, when your name is continuously repeated
26. संकट से हनुमान छुड़ावै।
मन कर्म बचन ध्यान जो लावै॥
‘Sankat se Hanuman Chhudavai, Mann karm vachan dhyan jo lavai’
Meaning – Hanuman will release his devotees from all troubles, who meditate upon him in their mind, action and words.
28. और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै।
सोई अमित जीवन फल पावै॥
‘Aur Manorath jo koi lavai, soi amit jeevan phal pavai’
Meaning – Whosoever comes to you for getting wishes fulfilled will get unlimited fruits/rewards
Which is the perfect way to do Hanuman Chalisa 11 times –
- Choose to start with Tuesday or Saturday.
- Try to keep the timing same. Either in the morning or evening.
- Place a photo of Hanumanji in your temple on a red or orange cloth.
- If possible, keep a statue/photo of Ram Darbar and a hanuman chalisa book.
- Light a lamp of Chameli oil, incense stick and dhoop batti.
- Apply sindoor vermillion to hanumanji and ram darbar/hanuman chalisa book.
- Offer an unbroken coconut, tied with mauli.
- Offer flowers, garland and prasad.
- Hanumanji loves simple prasad of Chana and gur or Boondi, besan Laddoo.
- Take some Akshat (rice), one coin, one flower and pray to Hanumanji about your desire with devotion. Inform him, you are going to chant for 11 days, 11 times for your wish fulfilment. And he fulfils whatever is in your highest good.
- Chant 11 times Hanuman Mantra – “Om Han Hanumate Namah”
- Seek his shelter(sharan) and offer the Sankalp rice on his divine feet.
- You can keep it simple but with devotion. Focus while chanting is most important.
- Start Chanting the hanuman chalisa and repeat 11 times.
- You should be in a meditative state and not let your mind wander.
- You can end with Hanumanji ki aarti and distribute the prasad.
- Next day you will have to do routine puja, offer prasad and chant 11 times, the Hanuman chalisa.
- 12th day end with the Hanuman Mantra, Hanuman Chalisa, Hanumanji ki Aarti, distribution of prasad.
- Try to keep satvik meals. Avoid onion garlic for all these 11 days.
- A day prior to starting you can clean your temple, arrange all the things and purify yourself by having satvik food.
- So, on the 12th day, offer Prasad, chant Hanuman Chalisa once, perform small Hawan and Aarti. You should not immerse the coconut in the river (for ecological reasons), you can just bury in the soil.
